I see Liz has started a neat little blog as well. Those of you wish to visit it, I've linked to it on the side bar...
Anyone who wants to part of this, dont hesitate to let me know via mail or the yahoo class group.
Oh and All the Best to Rohini, who i believe is about to get married. May your future be bright and prosperous.
By the way folks, i'm likely to be in Mumbai for a few days next week for a couple of days.. so if any of you are going to be in mumbai, let me know.
Cheers all

The class on the day of ACA orals..
Hey folks..
I had the camera on hand to record some of our last few days as the students of PCCE.
Here is the class preparing for the ACA orals.. well at least pretending to ...

And here is Anay imparting wise words of wisdom to the girls..
Anay is saying :

Here is Lowell and Rajesh discussing people. Lowell and Rajesh are arguing because Lowell claims Jose Mourinho (manager at Chelsea FC) looks better than Kavita, and Rajesh does not agree..

This is Gautam and Tamba possibly hatching a new bit of mischief...

And of course, everybody crowds round Roma to hear how the first batch of Orals went..

"so if you use Agile methods in designing a pipeline, you can achieve a theorectical pipeline efficiency of 172 % but since in those days I was not around to explain Agile Pogramming, they only achieved 50 % efficiency.."

Shortcuts to Success...................
What? 'Anay, have you gone crazy????? Some days back you only had said that there is no shortcut to success'. Most of you must be thinking this. But recently I received a mail with this subject and I really liked it. But in place of forwarding it to all, I decided to send it as a post in COMP RULES BLOG.
PLAN while others are playing.
STUDY while others are sleeping.
DECIDE while others are delaying.
PREPARE while others are daydreaming.
BEGIN while others are procrastinating.
WORK while others are wishing.
SAVE while others are wasting.
LISTEN while others are talking.
SMILE while others are frowning.
COMMEND while others are criticizing.
PERSIST while others are quitting.

So, what do you have to think about these points? Give me your comments.

The Birth of COMP_RULES
It was the break after the June 2004 Semester 4 exams. Everyone was wondering what to do ? Dr. Anil Seth who was our HOD at that time had put up a list of holiday projects to be done during the vacation. Me, Ralston and Alan volunteered to help with installing and testing LTSP4. We started off right away by installing Fedora on a PC and downloading the source code of LTSP and compiling it.
In between the installation and downloading we used to check our emails and send forwards to each other. Thats when this concept of mailing group caught our attention. Alan created an yahoo group by his name and asked us to join it just to test it out. One thing I liked about this group concept was that you just had to send an email to the group address and it went to all the members of the group. It would have been so nice if our class had a mail group. I wouldn't need to have everyone's email address in my address book. All the addresses in my address book were either wrong or they didn't exist.
So thats how we decided to make a group for our class. Ralston and me created a new yahoo user called comp_rules so that we could create a group with the same name. We didnt know that it was not necessary to create a new yahoo user to create a group. The password was 'computers'. The next step was to login as comp_rules and create a group called comp_rules. Thats when we realised that we could give any name for the group. We decided that it had to be a closed group and membership would have to be strictly through invitation only. Soon our group was up and running - comp_rules was born !

Much later we realised that unwittingly we had registered our group in the yahoo uk directory. Thats how the address came to be "comp_rules (at) yahoogroups (dot)co (dot)uk" [no spam]
We needed members for the group. So I donated some email ids of our classmates which i had in my address book at that time, and so did Alan and Ralston. Soon we invited a sizable portion of our class to join the group. But since we were in vacation at that time nobody bothered to check their mails. But once College began everyone started to checking their mails and joining comp_rules. The rest they say is history.
After that there was no looking back. Mails, polls, photos, files, important notices, question banks, syllabus copies..... and all sorts of forwards. COMP_RULES has played an important role in our class.
The name says it all ... COMP RULES !!!
Long Live comp_rules !

Alan upside down......

While we were on our way to Delhi, I decided to click snap of everyone in train. Actually all of us who had brought camera with us, were clicking the snaps and so was I.
There are many snaps which we took in train. But thanks to Alan, this snap turned out to be most eye-catchy. Whoever saw my album, used to think a lot when they used to see this photo. Their question is, 'Anay, how did Alan gave that pose?'. There are people who even think that Alan was hanging upside down on those fans. Good pose Alan.
